Members can now request workshop improvements (e.g. hand tools or other equipment) to the amount of 10% of their membership contributions.
The initiative is designed to allow members to define how the space shapes and transforms over time.
It's also intended to help KOW react, in a timely manner, to members' ever-changing interests and needs.
Of course, we will continue to invest much more than just 10% of membership income into developing the workshops on a more general level.
How it works:
Starting from June 2024, new or returning members can request, via email, the purchase of equipment for up to 10% of their total membership contribution amount.
Members can also pool their funds for larger purchases.
Knock on Wood reserves the right to refuse if the item/change requested does not contribute to the growth and improvement of the workshop.
Some examples of requests that will be refused are: materials (wood, sandpaper,..), heavily specialised equipment unlikely to be used in the future; excessively costly items; items that take up an excessive amount of space, etc.
Anything purchased remains property of Knock on Wood and must be treated as such (i.e. cannot be taken home, altered, etc.)
